What this is

A lot of people think Mr Hat Man is a Doobie Brothers channel. It is not.

It started as a video blog. One of the hundred days of a daily blogging challenge happened to be a Doobie Brothers concert, the band gave their blessing, and that one video has been watched more than four million times. Every penny it earns goes to the band and the publisher.

What the channel is really about is being there. Viktor Grant started with a Nikon when digital cameras first came out. Today he shoots 4K on his phone, gets right in close, and tells stories about the places he goes. Whether it is a live concert, a lecture or a video game, he is there and you are there with him.

Coming next

Cheech and Chong, a Grateful Dead band, and thousands of people.

Viktor just filmed the grand opening of Cheech and Chong's dispensary, met Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong in person, and stood in front of a live band playing Grateful Dead music while thousands of people filled the place. That video is being cut now.

At the same show he met a music producer and multi-instrumentalist who has played with Carlos Santana and Billy Idol. His song Boots on the Ground is becoming a Mr Hat Man music video, built from footage of the new Call of Duty, to celebrate the game's launch.
